About
Woolgoolga:
The
sleepy seaside town of Woolgoolga, NSW Australia is just 15-20 minutes
drive north of the city of Coffs Harbour. The town and surrounding
beaches are currently undergoing a surge in property sales after being
named as one of only 3 regional NSW "Hotspots" in RP Data's
influential report "Property Hotspots for 2009". The town
itself is quite multicultural, being home to a large Sikh Indian community
and the brilliant white temple visible just off the highway is evidence
of this. Woolgoolga's main beach is long and uncrowded and the southern
end is protected and provides good swimming and surfing. The town
is large enough to accommodate 2 supermarkets and a good range of
shops, restaurants, chemist etc. Parents have a choice of several
schools including Catholic and Public.
About
Coffs Harbour:
Located
approximately midway between Sydney and Brisbane, Coffs Harbour is a
medium size coastal city with a fantastic range of facilities. Coffs
has a great range of restaurants and Cafes.... many of which are located
on "The Jetty Strip" with a tantalising choice of food to
tempt your tastebuds. Many of the pubs and clubs here have been extensively
renovated in the last few years with the Coast Hotel, Plantation Hotel
and Coffs Hotel all undergoing major facelifts in recent times.
Coffs
Harbour has a multi cinema complex, ice skating rink, indoor ski slope,
several golf courses including Bonville International, an International
Sports Ground (the Wallabies train here). Live theatre with regular
shows. The Pet Porpoise Pool is a great alternative to Seaworld for
those keen on marine life, you can actually get right up to the dolphins.
Coffs
Harbour also has a large Marina, and great calmwater sailing within
the semi enclosed harbour. Offshore is a marine park with fantastic
diving (solitary islands marine park).
Many
people "experience" Coffs Harbour by simply driving through
the middle of town following the Pacific HWY, drive past the Big Banana
and then zoom out of town, however if you get off the main track there
is certainly plenty to see and do. There are also several quaint little
villages to check out within an hour either side of the city, places
like Bellingen and Dorrigo are well worth a drive and make a great day
out.
Many
of the main chain stores are here..... Big W (2), Target, Harvey Norman,
The Good Guys, Super Amart, Amart All sports, Morrisons, Strathfield,
Aldi, Officeworks, WOW, plus your usual big supermarkets. The city is
large enough to support 2 major shopping areas whilst retaining a community
atmosphere.
Coffs
Harbour is on the rail service network and also has an airport with
regular Jet services (Virgin) to Sydney and Brisbane etc.
The
weather is temperate to subtropical. Winter days rarely get below 15
degrees C and summers are balmy enabling you to take full advantage
of the beautiful beaches year round.
If
you don't already live here, consider making a trip to the city to investigate
what it has to offer and perhaps consider investing in Coffs Harbour
Real Estate.
